I read an article that stated that the native Americans fixed their depression by walking until it was gone….no matter how long it took. You certainly are spot on. It works for me!! Thank you Michael. We appreciate your hard work

Your solutions to overcome the tragedies and memories of war are very wholesome and steps anyone can undertake to heal. I see Dr Hyman’s advice is listed….simple and effective. That said, I have friends and know homeless Vets who are still living the hell of the Vietnam war everyday.

No doubt God cut you from a different piece of cloth. A cloth woven with threads of morality, bravery, persistence and a heart to serve and protect. Thank you for being you.

My Daddy had mental issues following WWII fighting the Japanese in The Philippines as did my Grandaddy fighting Bolsheviks in Siberia in WWI. Hand to hand combat both----killing other men took it's toll--He was hardly a Coward which is the clear implication here.

On occasion, as a child, my Daddy would wake from his sleep Screaming! My Grandaddy also dealt with post war issues. We'd run into their room--"Momma,is Daddy okay? He'fine sweetie---just war stuff. Now go back to bed. Daddy will be fine.". He never recalled the sleeping incident and Momma never brought it up.

The implication I read is they were Cowards of some sort just because Killing other Men took its toll. WWI, trench warfare meant Throat Cutting and shit--(Grandaddy)- My Daddy was not even American and joined the U.S. Military anyways. He was a Canadian Indian--(Mohawk)--Strong as a bull both physically and mentally---to imply he was a Coward at some level angers me. He helped save this Nation to the best of his ability. He could have stayed on his Reserve and be safe but he chose NO TO!

"I never suffered PTSD"---Good for you. Others were not so fortunate and that does not make them COWARDS.

These were MEN who did horrific acts to other men to save this Country.---never Cowards!

They dealt with it in their own way--Grandaddy on his ranch with some cattle and sheep and ran a Dog Kennel for his clients working dawn to dark and I worked for him building those kennels.---24/7. Daddy, not a carpenter-(Aeronautical Engineer was his background)-built a full sized Red Barn ALONE! He gardened too, a huge garden---Thats how they dealt with it.

I’d ask you to examine the Weaponization or Definition of words. Mr.Yon, you yourself have acknowledge how you dealt with “Post Traumatic Stress…” by burying yourself in your work or hiking in n nature to address this stress. The key word is DISORDER. Post Traumatic Stress is a Natural Human Condition which naturally occurs when taking a human life and is clearly not a Disorder. Non-kinetic warfare was the issue and continues to be using Psychological Weaponry rather than an actual firearm.

To weaponize the labeling of a a Natural Outcome has an intent——-primarily, as we saw under Mr. Obama—Vets unable to retain or acquire a Weapon claiming they suffered from a Disorder, which is clearly not.—-To disarm Vets was the intent, clearly. Mr. Obama was a insert of a hostile enemy or nation who’s Admin made this determination.

Please consider my words.

Marcia. Atomic has tried walking in nature. That’s self help. Said it doesn’t work. My conclusion? He’s tried. Self help isn’t working. Like I said.

Atomic. Perhaps you are still in the dungeon of self-pity. Your self hatred is very apparent as well. There is a remedy. But I guess you need to get even angrier to finally say, I've had enough of me and my Sad Sam self. Attacking Michael is not your remedy....although I suppose venting like that lifted you for maybe 2.3 seconds. Get help from someone who has gotten the victory. Self-help clearly isn't working.

I also sense that you have survived intact because of the truth you described well in your post about losing your beloved mother. You had already lost everything; you had already died...as you wrote. The experience of losing your mother set the stage for you to survive so much else in your life. You were set free in a way....to go for a walk in the sun.

Michael...your words could not be more true. Thank you! Nature and its healing powers is not a part of the daily lives of many, which saddens me beyond belief. I worked for many years with horses and people with PTSD - some of them combat vets - and the combination of being outside in nature and working alongside a beast as majestic and pure as a horse helped to heal these people in a way that simply could not be described. My wish is that more people follow your advice, and reconnect with Mother Earth.
