Great book! It took me a couple of months to read it but it was well worth it. So much history that you will never learn in school.

This is where the term "Panama Suit" came from.

That linen suit worn in the Tropics that we all have come to associate with hot, humid climates.

Not to mention the hats!😎

That was fascinating. Mr. Yon is correct, in 1880-ish 90% of NYC residents were addicted to heroin. They sold a cough syrup who's active ingredient was Sodium Heroin----lots a people had persistent coughs, I reckon.

On the Suez Canal, a British MP by the name of Benjamin Disraeli altered Nathaniel Rothschild re The Suez Canal and the French stock interest in it. Mr. Rothschild bought those French shares along that canal.

Yeah, my Daddy was like that--a Bookworm. He read an entire book each night and repeatedly on many occasions. His Daddy wanted him to be a Warrior like him and a. worker (Grandaddy was a Skywalker, a high rise steel worker building Manhattan). Daddy was an avid reader and took to numbers and math----Math fascinated him. He ended up an Aeronautical Engineer with and Electrical Engineering education too.

Night all and thank you for a fascinating discussion and history lesson.
