All six are reported as intercepted by Qatar air defense. That's it? Just six, easily intercepted missiles? Sounds like a token to me - not a full-scale escalation. We'll see.
Edit: also seeing reports that Iran notified Qatar ahead of the attack, and that Qatar actually intercepted the missiles.
Yes, Trump allowed them to hit us in Al-Asad in Western Iraq after he took out Soleimani in Baghdad back in 1/2020. He chose patience then and it paid off. The Iraqi Shia do not support the Wilayat al-Faqih (Rule of the Jurists / Clerics) like Iran. The marja which of course has its hawza in Najaf (equivalent of Qom in Iran) has been relatively quiet so far. The problem is that we are running headlong into Ashura which is like Easter for the Shia. Many hundreds of thousands of pilgrims are beginning to make their way to southern Iraq. The passion play of their "Good Friday" would fall on July 8th -- depending on the appearance of the moon that brings the month of Muharram c. June 28th. We all know this stuff after being at war with the Muslims for 35 years now, right??
People are driving amidst this. That night sky is a nightmare. These videos are incredible for us to see. Living through the stress of this bombardment....cannot imagine. Prayers for the people.
"Iran gave a 12-hour heads-up before launching its missile attack on US bases stationed in Qatar.
No casualties are expected.
The strike involved 6 missiles aimed at symbolic targets, signaling a response without any expectation of matching the scale of damage Iran suffered over the weekend."
Similar to the counters after the Soleimani strike in 2020, Iran gave a heads up and it was overall a symbolic response.
What if US and Russia are back-channelling to resolve the ME. Trump doesn't want war, he wants to solve the tension constantly stoked by Davos then work with Russia for net gain. He's a builder (win-win for all parties), not a London financialist (zero sum games, winner takes all).
The war between Israel and Iran is over. Cease fire has been accepted by both countries.

I wonder if Dain's info below is known by the average working Qatari....and if they are reassured and calmed at all.
The base was evacuated last week.
