Yon is a magnificent intellect in a blue collar way that oddly makes it even more valuable. Misako is so endearing in her style as well.

Absolutely agree with your description. Why he is believable and relatable. Masako is the same. This is a power couple.

Ask me about Miakajima August of 2000. We were at Flight Level 350 going to Tokyo from Guam in a Continental Micronesia B 737-800. Northwest 747 at FL 370 a few miles behind us. It blew its top and the ash plume enveloped us and we were lucky to make it to Tokyo. I put on the igniters to flight start and opened up all the bleed air users (cowlings and leading edge) to reduce the engine pressure ratio, (unload the jet). I think that is what save the day as GE reps came from the states and their jaws dropped when they saw how clogged up the combustion chamber was. They even told the mechanics there (who were my friends) they did not know how those engines kept running.

I've been watching the earthquake activities going on in the southern islands of Japan and been thinking of you and Masako for days now. I pray for both of you to be safe and unharmed. Will continue to keep you both in my prayers, as well!

War is coming, likely August. Neo Cons in full control of Administration. Martin Armstrong just sent out a warning on his Pro Blog of which I am a subscriber. The airport TSA ID checkpoints all have cameras installed. A church here in the Woodlands of Texas had a sermon using Romans 13. I thought is this just a coincidence or is this part of a narrative leading into Marty's warning sent out yesterday to his Pro Blog subs. Stuff is lining up, they need fear to drive $$ into the bond market to roll the short-term debt that Yellen sold into longer dated maturities to prevent total collapse of the US debt market. Get ready, the signs are there. Please prepare, I am not a tinfoil hat chicken little.

There’s reports of animals leaving Yellowstone. Incredible microwave activity in the Northeast over here in the states. Hays county is still under a flood watch. There’s lots going on. Hope and pray that’s the last “bump”!

Books found/procured locally? Or recently carried to Japan from abroad? Given the bulk, I'd guess the former rather than the latter (?). Perhaps old knowledge and wisdom, long out of print, left stranded there by adventurers and officials of centuries past.

Many of my books I had shipped to Japan. Others I got in antique bookstores. Every one of these books is part of a much larger story. I am very careful with what makes it to my shelves.

Www.jstor.com is also excellent. It's a compendium of old out-of-print, academic publications going back into the 1800's, and a rich resource for historical research.
