The Radicals will Begin Killing Free Media

You never know which bear will fight until the bear fight.

Just a matter of time at this rate. When this happens, some of the most popular people today likely will quit, and be forgotten very quickly. And then new faces we never heard about will rise up.

Interesting to think that people like Tim Poole will get a taste of war correspondent work if they continue. They may get to see what it’s like to experience people in their immediate vicinity shot down, blown up, killed.

And then late at night when they are alone, start making decisions — ‘is this worth my life?’ If the answer is No, they quit and vanish. Like a wave on a midnight beach.

In my experience, most will quit. Even ‘war correspondents’ who consciously steamed off to war will generally quit after even a couple of serious events. Like panning for gold. There are very few Lara Logans out there.

You never know which bear will fight until the bear fight.

One thing you may find is that people you thought were courageous — they look-the-look and talk the talk — are just as apt to fold quickly. Other people you think are whimpy turn out to be superstars. They just keep going. Round by round. Month by month. And then year by year, they keep getting back up.

It will be interesting to see who is still standing come January 2024.

Who will make it — unless catch a bullet — and who will crumble under stress?
