We watch the final chapter being written on a centuries-long saga.
How many “royal” families will survive with their “kingdoms” intact? Surely not the British, or Dutch. Princes afforded all the right schools and drivers and coaches and tutors and they played on big yachts and wore unearned medals and awards.
Their princesses in the show with their golden lotus feet and pretty smiles. Gleaned on screens and newsstands without interruption. All inherited shoes they could never wear.
The “royals” were pretty. Arrogance. Childlike naïveté. The actors pretending to be royals could stay intact and play their roles in the charade only so long as their subjects were strong, yet compliant.
The royals were tricked.

I get your point about the nation, but the house of windsor has been fake all along.
I have no doubt the spoiled turd king they now have killed off mummy because he was tired of waiting to sit his puckered ass on her throne.
That said, the queen was not the grand dame she appeared to be. Her husband was a eugenicist.
