Don't be led by the many

In 2007, I had more war-reach than the top “10 influential milbloggers” combined.

And I am the only man who refused to meet President Bush. Those who went to Bush spent very little time combined in the wars. They knew very little about the battlefields I lived on year after year.

With some exceptions, the milblogger ecosystem was a big self-licking ice-cream cone.

Many information ecosystems are easy to spot. I see many today.

Most of the famous faces today will disappear within a handful of years and be replaced. Shed like autumn leaves, absorbed into the ground.

Only a few have lasting power.

This is the way of things.
